Melissa Wu

Melissa Wu is a World Class athlete who has competed at 3 Olympics and 4 Commonwealth Games.

Melissa is a current member of the Australian Diving Team and a New South Wales Institute of Sport (NSWIS) Scholarship holder. She is a platform specialist and competes in womens 10m Individual, womens 10m synchro and mixed 10m synchro events. She is a 3 time Olympian and Olympic Silver Medallist. She has also represented Australia at 4 Commonwealth Games, most recently at the 2018 Gold Coast Games, where she won a Gold Medal in the Womens 10m individual platform event. Melissa made her Australian team debut at just 13 years of age in the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games, where she won a Silver Medal. By age 16 Melissa had won medals in every major open international diving competition, as well as winning a Gold Medal at Junior World Championships.

As an elite athlete with a long and prestigious career, Melissa wants to share what she has learnt to help young emerging and elite athletes take their sport to the next level. While Melissa is highly qualified, she believes not everything can be learnt in books. Some of the most important things she teaches are drawn from her many years of experience as a World Class athlete. Melissa currently also coaches an NSWIS Diving Target Squad, which aims to bring through Australia’s next generation of Olympic Divers.

Over the past year Melissa has been training under the talented @daleckistrength team learning about gymnastics strength training and gymnastics for CrossFit. She also ran a series of handstand fundamental classes for them, and developed online core programs with the Dalecki Strength Team. Melissa runs a weekly gymnastics strength class for Dalecki Strength as well as training her own clients in the HrdKAW Strength gym (#WuHQ). Melissa focuses on teaching people exactly what it takes to train like an athlete, not only the physical training but also the importance of injury prevention, work ethic, optimal nutrition, recovery and a champion mindset.
